ADA Compliant Stair Handrails Project Details
When Shioi Construction of Lihue, HI needed ADA compliant handrails for their Koloa Village project, they turned to Easyfit for their supply of the fittings to make it happen. The new complex has several multi-level staircases that require ADA compliant railing to help ensure the safety of its residents.
Since our modular ADA railing fittings work in conjunction with standard 1-1/4” Sch40 pipe, local pipe was able to be used, saving them lots of money on shipping. It also provided them the ability to install a handrail system that was easily adjusted to fit in the field by simply measuring and cutting the pipe to desired lengths on site. The fittings and pipe were then painted after the install to match the exterior of the building.
Thoughts On Using Easyfit's ADA Fittings
Here is what Joe had to say about working with our fittings:
"I have been managing large projects for many years, and many times, the Architectural drawings are not representative of what needs to be done to construct. My current project, Koloa Village, on Kauai, Hawaii, has a multitude of various stair and landing configurations, and in order to meet the commercial codes for grab rails, we needed help. Luckily, my Finish Carpenter Foreman was familiar with Easyfit products, and suggested I contact you. He helped me put together a materials list, even though we had no details to work with, and I sent the request to Easyfit. The response was surprisingly quick, and with it, were some questions on our order about possible pieces that might also be needed. This guidance resulted in a revised materials list, a quick quote, and once a P.O. was issued, the materials were shipped next day."
"The construction business is a real challenge with the current climate, but I must say that working with Easyfit has been great, and I will know who to contact for future projects."
- Joe Clemensen // Senior Project Manager, Shioi Construction

Using the fittings listed below gave flexibility to make turns, angle changes, and terminations in the rail when needed. The end result is a durable, high-quality railing that will keep people safe for many years to come.
