Easyfit structural pipe fittings are manufactured from iron to BS EN 1562:1997.

Easyfit pipe fittings type 90 is manufactured in weldable cast steel to BS 3100:1991. These types can be fabricated into structures or used to make special fittings for any application.

Easyfit pipe fittings are fitted with stainless steel set screws as standard to BS 970 Grade 420.
Each set screw can support an axial load of 900 kg when tightened to a torque of 40Nm.

Easyfit pipe fittings are galvanized to BS EN ISO 1461:1999 as standard.

Table 1 - Beam Load Table (Pounds)

This table gives an indication only of safe lodes UNIFORMILY DISTRIBUTED, in pounds, that may be carried per "shelf" consisting of front and back pipes when used as "continuous" beams. Reccommended set screw torque: 29 lbs/ft. For uneven load distributions or single spans, the required pipe size must be determined by standard bending movement calculations assuming an Easyfit joint to give a simply supported beam.
PLEASE NOTE: At loads greater than 2023 pounds, consideration must be given to set screw slip.

Table 2 - Upright Load Table (Pounds)

This table gives an indication only of the safe load, in pounds, that may be carried between and above restraints by a single Schedule 40 pipe, 30K PSI, when used as uprights. Loads listed under column "A" refer to those obtainable in a free standing racking system. Loads listed under column "B" refer to those obtainable in a racking system that is mechanically affixed to the surface on which it stands. Recommended set screw torque: 29 lbs/ft.

Table 3 - Maximum Post Centers

The maximum post centers for handrailing based on the maximum allowable bending moment of the pipe for each case. The maximum centers in inches (rounded to the smallest whole inch) are in the table below:
